We’re living in a time where divisive politics are deepening the cracks in our communities. Many are heartbroken by the rising hostility, mistrust, and disconnection we see around us, and we know that simply hoping isn’t enough. Protests and rallies remain vital parts of our democracy, but we also need more hopeful, unifying ways to stand for peace.
This interfaith, cross-cultural, intergenerational initiative is being led by community members who want to do something simple but powerful. So, we’re organising a public event that brings people together; not in anger, but in unity and resolve. Through shared food, music, storytelling, and open dialogue, the picnic invites participants to reclaim common ground and stand together for peace.
Launching on August 31st, this is more than a one-day event — it marks the beginning of a broader movement. In the months that follow, we hope to continue the momentum through monthly webinars, table talks, and community walks for peace, fostering ongoing conversation, learning, and collective action.
